Every year, on the Day of Arafah, millions of pilgrims gather with one shared goal: to stand before Allah and seek His mercy. It’s one of the most powerful moments of the Hajj — and at its heart is the Khutbah of Arafat, a sermon that carries timeless reminders for all believers.
This year, in Hajj 2025, something beautiful is happening. The Khutbah will be translated into 34 different languages, helping pilgrims around the world understand and connect with this sacred message like never before.
What Is the Khutbah?
The Khutbah is a sermon delivered from Masjid Namirah on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah — the Day of Arafah. This sermon goes back to the time of the Prophet ﷺ, who gave his final farewell Khutbah during Hajj. It’s not just a speech; it’s a message to the entire Ummah.
Unlike Friday Khutbahs we hear each week, the Arafah Khutbah is universal. It reminds us of the Oneness of Allah, the rights we owe one another, the importance of unity, justice, and the finality of the Prophet ﷺ. For many, it’s the moment they feel their heart soften. For others, it’s the first time they hear certain reminders in the place where so many prophets stood before them.
But until now, not everyone could understand what was being said.
Now Translated into 34 Languages
This year, through a project led by Saudi authorities, the Khutbah will be translated and broadcast in 35 languages. Pilgrims will be able to listen through FM radio, mobile apps, and on-site screens, making it easier for everyone — regardless of nationality or background — to take in the full meaning.
